puppy prayers?
i came home late last night to find a little poodle prancing around the house. this is my grandparents' dog, holly. my grandparents are out of town and we are apparently watching her while they are gone. this thing drives me insane.
if you don't know me well, let me just tell you that i am the kind of girl who can't wait to move to an apartment complex where they allow pets...because i would LOVE a golden retreiver or chocolate lab. i love dogs...big ones, mostly. poodles are on my hit list (along with cats).
so, i'm sitting in the kitchen, eating my leftovers...and my brother starts talking to the dog...
aaron: "we're going to make an athiest out of you, holly. ... mwa hahaha"
me: (laughing) "what are you talking about??"
aaron: "she's going to miss her bed time prayers."
so, seriously...my grandparents pray with their dog? is that weird, or is it just me?

"that's nice."
it's not often that i complain about living in the south. afterall, we have southern hospitality, fried chicken, sweet tea, stone mountian, coke, peaches.....and the list goes on.
however, when it comes to weather and traffic....i want to scream. and die. and say a lot of words that i really shouldn't be thinking in the first place. last night it took me 25 minutes to drive a 5 minute stretch of road. even worse, it took my father 2-1/2 hours to get back from midtown. to put that into perspective...in the middle of the day where there is no traffic...it takes about 25 minutes to get there.
why so much traffic? it was sprinkling. barely raining. i'm not kidding. no sleet, no hail, not even thunder or heavy winds. no accidents, no crazy man running in the middle of the road...just a light shower and the forecast of ice for the NEXT DAY.
how do people go from light showers to panic and "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!"????
it's pathetic. totally, completely pathetic. so if you're an atlanta driver who was driving at 10 mph on an open stretch of road last night, SHAME ON YOU. get a grip on reality, people.
"float away from me, float away."
sorry, people...i must have some kind of disorder, seeing that i rant about traffic too much.

"umm..hello?"
"and we say what everyone says when they're cut off...."umm..hello??"
"and i'm just driving down the road, and up comes a sign. and i'm like, "you got it, sign.""
okay...i'm so tired i'm not really sure what i'm writing here. is it me...or is it entirely too early in the quarter to be doing the whole 4 hours of sleep thing? i'm really stressed out about this studio class, and really should be drawing right now.
i keep getting questions about the interview. *grin* that was fun, though..i must admit! well, this interview wasn't something i went out seeking. i mean, never in my life did i make it a goal to be on the telly..i'm not really the big-personality type. that's one reason i prolly won't get this. ANYWAY....it was an interview with the HGTV show, "Designer Finals." i've never seen the show, to be honest. i just got the chance to interview with them, and thought..."well, i can put it on a resume...and i've never done that before." (this is how i live my life..."never done that before, let's try it." lol...) i won't find out for a couple weeks...and i highly doubt anything will come of it. it was just fun. :-)
*sleepy eyes*

THE interview.
the interview happened today. i won't find out anything for a couple of weeks...but i think it went well. in spite of that, i seriously doubt that it will develop further due to the hugemongous number of people being interviewed. i won't really be dissapointed if i don't 'get it' (just because it's so bizarre), but i would be thrilled if i did.
who knows. :-)
oh, if you don't know what i'm talking about...you'll find out in two weeks :-)
i miss my guy. :-(

*cough*
i have been coughing for a week now. i think i caught something on the plane TO colorado springs...which turned out to be not so cool for my lungs in Keystone.
i had a fabulous time hanging out with the chapmans last week (as always!!). they're so much fun... little princess h. is the cutest girl!!!
"does bekah know more than you?" --h to mary
"are you even going to miss mark?" --h to me
"mary has the most wonderfullest face in the world." --h
"do bunnies hibernate?" -h
on saturday morning, we got up at...4:00...to get tdub, jon and steph at the airport. so ben and mark took ben's car...and mary and i climbed into patrick's car and drove up to denver....haha.
"parts, parts..." (singing/dancing with commercials is good entertianment). we got to the airport, and i jumped out of the car, running past everyone singing "hiiiiiiii.....gottaaa gooooooo....." as we walked through the airport, mary pointed out the water fountains.
the rest of the trip up to dillon was great...dane cook is super funny and kept us laughing the whole way.
"f bees, man...f bees. i'd punch all the bees in the face."
"don't float over me while i'm dying in the abyss!"
"float away from me, float away."
so anyway....we went skiing and I CANT WAIT TO GO BACK!!!!!!!! i didn't fall...even once. i've improved so much since last year (um, since i've been practicing like...all the time here in atlanta...yeah.)
we all had a great break skiing with friends and playing crazy ivan at night. and now i'm going to get back to working....(you know it.)

almost brunette...
hair appointment disaster of the year (and it's only January) turned me nearly brunette. AND I LOVE IT! *smile* i may have been a few minutes late for my 11:00 meeting with my boss, but hey...i got a cute hair color out of it. it's amazing how much this color changes my colors for makeup!! i can now wear that dark, sexy lipstick and not look like a freaky clown. i think i'm enjoying having this darker color. but don't worry, your blonde friend will always be blonde at heart...and in the summer!!
this new color actually looks more natural on me. my eyebrows are a dark brown, but my hair is naturally light blonde. now, my hair somewhat matches my eyebrows and looks more natural. how weird is that? the first time i color my hair it looks more natural than it started out to be.
goodness...the delta hold music is obnoxious...*moans* TEN minutes....
"music is the most perfect form of art" --my smart brother (and prolly someone else who is also smart). i think he's right...music touches the human soul in ways that visual and literary art do not. it makes an instant connection with you, even if you hate the song.
okay..my phone call is over...
gotta run!

I just love people.
let me complain for just a minute here. there are lots of ways to get me ticked off while working with me...
1-complain about having to wait on a table b/c you are enjoying yourself too much talking with friends. um...like i care??? i'm just doing my job.
2-try to get the guy at the closest section to take the table for you...nevermind that he already has 5 tables and is behind. i guess your friends are more important than his sanity.
3-complain to my coworker, "when i say no more tables, i mean it"...when you never actually said it in the first place and you're just trying to validate your raunchy attitude.
*sigh* she's so not my favorite.
oh, and..
4-follow me around and flirt with me. i don't think it's funny, and i don't care if you do or not. i'm not there to entertain you...and just because i'm nice to you dosen't give you a license to bug me.
ok, well, he's not all that bad as long as he's minding his own business.
it's not a bad job...i usually enjoy it. i just find that people can be extremely irritable and it's contagious.
done with the whining...thanks.
i got an awesome sweater at Target today on the sales rack.
