elegant.
elegant. so many design concepts for that one single word. eliminating to find the best fit for my "retail space" is the hard part. gosh, why does brainstorming have to be so fun? i could totally get carried away...but then i have to get down to the technical part...the practical, tangible, organizational concepts. which is also fun...it just tends to squash my creativity (or atleast bring me back down to reality :-p).
people, i just realized there's only two weeks left of classes. which is very relieving...yet completely overwhelming. (you mean i have to get THAT done in two weeks?!) time to buckle down and get busy. *forsees* late nights...red bull...double shots (of the espresso sort *wink*)...foam core...lol....must everything involve foam core?
GUSTER ON ICE ROCKS!
**Brian's State Song is the BESTEST
**the cowboy is disturbing.
**"he's so the guster mom."
**"you made us play in your living room."
**"isn't that where you **** uncontrollably?"
**"you wouldn't believe what just happened in here."
**"i'm thinking: ALERT! ALERT! Red, yellow....maybe some orange...flash, flash, flash."
**Brian...the fruit roll up...the coffee table....
go see Guster on Ice. You won't regret it. :-p
i eat buffalo.
unlike a certian jessica [ditzy...stupid....slut....] simpson, i am craving buffalo wings (ERR...CHICKEN wings, sweetie.). man, i'd give anything for some medium wings right now. but alas, i'm stuck here...in the studio...working on drawings and boards. not that i'm complaining or anything...i've just been doing it for ten hours. heh.
TWO MORE DAYS till .... well, you guess. *big grin*
S.O.I.D.s
this will no doubt have you laughing if you're in any way related to or an interior designer.
liquid nails
liquid nails rocks. and spray mount is forever. never throw away foam core, and xacto knives suck. invest in better knives. keep knife collection in same place. be more thankful for printers. block lettering is only fun after so long. retail spaces are facinating. will always and forever need more storage space. re-use old, ugly, useless boards. spending too much time in my studio makes me a freak. thus, this post. --b
"welcome to my life" (wah.)
i'd just like to know who enjoys listening to songs about pre-teens (or ppl who haven't grown out of this stage) whining about their lives. whoever wrote this song is obnoxious! haha...don't we hear enough whining every day?
putting it into musical form only makes me want to hurt somebody. *grin*
people, please put your lil girls in carseats.
driving down the road...some idiot from CT thot it was cool to let their little girl run around the back seat without any kind of seatbelt. i see this often and want to pull them over and chew 'em out. my gosh, what a bunch of LOUSY parents. lol.
easedroping in starbucks...
girl to guy: "what's wrong, having a bad day?"
guy: "yeah, it's been horrible. let's just put it this way..GIRLS.. atleast guys are honest. oh, the drama."
i wanted to stand up and applaud. 'nough said.

i got free lunch.
went to the binders gallery today to see our courtyard design...thrid place! yipee! hey, i mean, we totally threw it together, and we won 3rd. i walked in there, like i knew what i was doing (i havent been to binders since my move to CO), and broswed through all the designs. as i was studying one of them, this guy, who is apparently the owner of binders, asks me if i want a free lunch. a few of the employees had jason's deli there...and they totally gave me a sandwich! yay! of course, they only offered when i said that i wasn't able to make it to the party friday, but i had worked with the team that won 3rd place. so yeah, i got a free lunch. how cool is that?
yes, it was a slow day. but i'm going to choose to enjoy the little things in life. hehe
took a two hour nap *sigh* (only slept for under 4 hours last night, so it isn't so lazy afterall ;-))
okay, explain the whole "please be cocky and goof off wihle you're on the clock" concept. somebody, please...i'm dyin' here.
i'm really craving hot chicken wings right now, thanks to nick. but now i'm also scared to drive. hilarious story, no?
retail design...an idea that is becoming more familiar and more intriguing every day. i'm not sure that i have the "advertising" type of personality, but i think i could definitley design it. i read today that 70% of a customer's decision to purchase an item is made inside the store. that makes loads of sense, but i never really thought about it. that means that less than 30% of outside advertising is effective in twisting someone's arm.
the color red increases your appetite. by instinct, the colors yellow and black in a combination cause people to pull back. explain anything about GT? *wink*
my new favorite movie
"you have absolutley no new messages. not a single one. not even from your mother."
"don't worry about me. any single girl in London knows how to handle herself."
"the moment is gone, bridget." (no, no, no! let's start over!)
the best scene is the guys fighting. they're so hysterical!!!
"what are you going to do? drown me in sixteen inches of water?!"
"pull the little thing! or you WILL die!"
ski lift: *desperate cry* "but WHY?"
rebecca: "i was the one that suggusted this resort. i've been coming here since i was eleven."
bridget: "three whole years."
"and my legs only come up to here."
you've got to be kidding.
so the doctor says, "eat bland food." me? bland food? yeah, right. he didn't say coffee, though *wink*
so i eat chili (i refrained from adding tabasco or habereno sauce... believe it or not....hey, at least i'm trying.), and a big cup of coffee.
but the good news is that he dosen't think i have an ulcer...yet!
comforting words of friends:
"i thought only old men got ulcers."
"don't you think maybe it's stress?"
and the best...
"you should relax. let's go see bridget jones!"
i hate georgia winter time. it's just cold. and rain. and cold and rain. i hate rain.
as good as it gets
4 hours of sleep, one cup of coffee, 5 hour midterm.
oh, did i mention CAD?
yay, day.
feelin' accomplished!
i actually finished by board by 2:30 this afternoon like i had planned. i think this is the first time a board has been done on time for me...
still though...got a midterm in the morning. bright and early.
ok ,this is really boring and i have a lot of work to do... just needed to make that announcement.
"why they changed it, i can't say..."
most definitley got that they might be giants song stuck in the head.
studying for a CAD midterm...oh my gosh, i'm so not a CAD girl. i get it...but i don't like it so much.
"everything sticks like a broken record.."
for the *luv* of design
i hate...
rainy nights downtown...especially when a board and presentation are due!
working on a board for countless hours, only to have it ripped apart in critique a few hours later.
i love...
being downtown in the early morning, stopping for a cup of coffee, and seeing my professor's work in elle decor magazine!
seeing my boards improve...over time.
finishing a project early
so yeah, President Bush! 4 more years! *big grin*
